Mary Poppins Can Suck It

(Snapping instead of doing it yourself is totally cheating and.... It's not fair! I wanna be able to snap chores away.) I think this move may kill me before Terrel and I actually get there. To give an idea, this is what I look like right now:
I took it with my really shitty webcam. I will call this masterpiece: EH?

As I brought coffee in from the kitchen just now, I realized that I have no idea how many times I have spilled coffee on my laptop. This is something that everyone should know about their computer. How many times have I spilled coffee on it? Zero. But, not me, no, that's not allowed. If a bet were made on what I have or have not spilled coffee on the only one I would know for sure would be my Scott Pilgrim comic books. Cause that shit's important.

In any case, Terrel and I are moving to New Orleans... tomorrow. I know we'll get everything done today in time to go to the bar and say goodbye to our friends tonight and that when the movers come tomorrow everything will actually be fine. But, until then I'm going to be quietly freaking out my corner.
Sony is putting us in corporate housing for the month to give us time to find a place. Which is kind of them. The place we're staying is all super fancy. I think I'm going to feel a bit of a bum there, honestly. It's something like two blocks off of Bourbon St & Canal. I can't wail until Saturday when everything is done and we can finally relax but, for these next two days I'll be drinking coffee and smoking way too much so as not to kill everyone with whom I come in contact.

Alright, kiddo's that's enough stalling for now. I'll talk to you again from New Orleans comfortably sitting on my couch in my leopard print snuggie.

Good Morning World!

Picture Unrelated. Maybe.

I've not been able to sleep at night lately. Usually when this happens I stay up until about nowish and sleep the day away. I can not do that today. There is far too much to do. Apartment hunting for Terrel and myself and the job hunt continues. I can't just be sleeping all day or sitting on my ass dicking around on the internet. I've got to be a responsible adult or whatever. At 9 in the morning though, there's nothing for me to do except drink my coffee, hope I don't fall asleep and watch this episode of 'Life on Mars' the US version. Maybe if I get the time today, however unlikely, I'll read a book, or maybe spend some time not on the internet. Maybe. First, I will make my 'to do' list for today and then I might actually do it. Well, at least the important bits.

Lies We Tell Children

Terrel and I at the Fallen Tree Tunnel in Yosemite

As it has been a few months or so, I figured I'd post something. I went on my second trip to California this year a couple days ago. My boyfriend, Terrel, and I flew out to San Jose, Ca where we were picked up by my friend Felisha. It was a short flight of about 4 hours followed by a long drive of about 4 hours. Judging time is weird.

I love to fly. If I could, I would fly everywhere. It probably helps that I can sleep on planes. Felisha picked us up and we got back to town in good time. Auberry had just gotten a bar, which was fantastic. I had a few pints there and we spent the night at Felisha's house.

The rest of the trip was spent at my parents house. Dad shook Terrel's hand and asked him if he took good care of me. Terrel said, "Yes," and Dad replied with, "I'll put the bullets away then". Seriously this is how my father greets my boyfriend that he is meeting for the first time. Swell. We were there for another couple days. My folks made us sleep in seperate rooms.

All in all it was a good trip and I'm glad Terrel got to meet my family. My brother in law told Terrel that he liked meeting him, he is really good for me and that he hopes to see him again, but, that he understands if he doesn't. Yeah, my family's awesome like that.

So, anyway... we've been back for a while now. Terrel's started his new job with Sony and I've been looking for a new job. Hopefully something will turn up for me soon. Until then, I will be sitting at my desk filling out applications and watching netflix.

As for the lies we tell children, I'll give one:
The reason we have to take our shoes off at the airport is so that the employees can make sure no one has stinky shoes. As, people with stinky shoes are not allowed on airplanes or they must go barefoot.

That is all for today.
